Our Preschool Gymnastics program introduces toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergarten age children to the awesome sport of gymnastics. Children as young as 18 months are ready to start learning gymnastics! Don't expect them to be performing back handsprings at this young age, of course, but do expect them to begin building strength, flexibility, and coarse motor development. Our preschool classes are divided into three levels, based roughly on age, but also based on demonstrated ability, motivation, and focus. Preschool classes are co-ed. Kids in our preschool program enjoy learning the basic gymnastics skills in a spacious, safe, fenced-in area with colorful mats and routines that change often enough to keep boredom away. Our preschool classes are not just fun time, though. We really teach them gymnastics. And we use the official names for skills they work on, so they not only have the skills, but they also know the proper vocabulary when they move into our recreational or competitive gymnastics programs. Preschool Beginner (Boys and Girls ages 18 months – 3 years) In the Beginner Preschool classes at Phenomenal Flips Gymnastics USA, we teach fundamentals to prepare children for excellence in life. They will begin to learn physical coordination, but more importantly will begin to understand concepts such as taking turns, conquering fear, solving problems, following directions and working well with others. This class offers gymnastics in a fun, loving, and nurturing environment. Children will use various apparatus, including vault, low balance beams, bars, and floor exercise with lots of fun shape mats. This class is a wonderful opportunity for parents, grandparents, or other adults to bond with young children in their lives, as an adult must accompany each child in the class. Preschool Intermediate (Boys and Girls ages 3 to 5 years) In the Intermediate Preschool classes at Phenomenal Flips Gymnastics USA, children continue to develop socialization and mental deduction skills. We add many gymnastics movements to help children with coarse motor development, strength, and flexibility. Students will have fun while doing important gymnastic progression activities. Students will use various apparatus, including vault, low balance beams, bars, and floor exercise with lots of fun shape mats. Children participate in this class with only the coach (no accompanying adult is needed). Although this class is open to children ages 3 to 5, children under the age of 4 must have completed Beginners Preschool or have a skill assessment before enrolling in this level. Preschool Advanced (Boys and Girls ages 3 to 5 years) The Advanced Preschool class at Phenomenal Flips Gymnastics USA is the class in which young gymnasts really begin to master basic gymnastics skills. They have typically developed important team-building traits and have become proficient at listening and responding to coaches in a healthy, respectful, and productive way. This class builds on the skills achieved in the Intermediate Preschool class and will continue to use vault, low balance beams, bars, and floor exercise. Children must have a skill assessment before enrolling in this level. Students come one day per week for one hour.
