Policies and Procedures

Please arrive at Phenomenal Flips Gymnastics USA on time, ready to participate, and stay until practice is over.  If you are coming from Waverly Rd. north of Lansing Rd., you may have to wait for a train on your way to the gym; plan to head to Phenomenal Flips Gymnastics USA early enough to allow for that possibility.

Please be sure your gymnast wears proper attire while at Phenomenal Flips Gymnastics USA.

·  All girls: Each girl should wear a leotard without a skirt (skirts may get wrapped around the bars). Shirts and shorts should not be worn for the same reason.  Leotards are proper gymnastics attire both for safety and for fun! Hair must be pulled back, jewelry should not be worn, no gum or food is allowed in the gymnastics training area.  All gymnasts should be barefoot in the gymnastics training area.

·  Preschool and recreational boys:  Each preschool and recreational boy should wear gym shorts with a pull string or strong elastic band to hold his shirt in place.  His shirt should be long enough to stay tightly tucked into his shorts. Belts, zippers, and buckles are not allowed. All gymnasts should be barefoot in the gymnastics training area.

·  Team boys:  Each team boy should wear a step-in with shorts or gymnastics pants for safety’s sake.  Step-ins stay put even when team boys perform the most complex skills. This attire is the ultimate in safety, providing boys with maximum comfort, effective athletic attire, and therefore a fun time!  Belts, zippers, and buckles are not allowed. All gymnasts should be barefoot in the gymnastics training area.

Every gymnast must treat other gymnasts and instructors with respect.  Gymnasts should never make rude or belittling comments; they should not put on displays of anger or disgust, and should not talk back to anyone.

Absolutely no rough play or “crashing” will be tolerated.

Walk on red; train on blue.  Gymnasts must always use the red carpeted walkways to go from one apparatus to another. As tempting as it may be to walk across the blue vault runway or the blue stretching area, for safety sake it is not allowed.
