Printable Pre-Team and Team Schedule
Girls Compulsory Pre-Team Program (Levels 1 to 4)
These most basic levels of the competitive
program at Phenomenal Flips Gymnastics USA emphasize strength, flexibility,
and proper skill execution in preparation for competitions. Each gymnast
will learn routines for each apparatus at each level. These routines are
“compulsory” which means that each gymnast does pretty much the same routine
(very few variations are allowed). Each level’s routines add skill
progressions that build on those achieved at the previous level. Placement
into the pre-team program is done by skill assessment. Gymnasts will
advance through the levels as they demonstrate mastery of the appropriate
skills. Such advancement is made at the discretion of the coaching staff.
Each gymnast is treated as an individual; gymnasts will be motivated to
excel at whatever pace allows them to continue to enjoy the sport of
gymnastics. As a result, some gymnasts will move up more quickly than
others. We encourage each gymnast to be the best she can be, not to be “the
best”. After all, only one person can be “the best” but each gymnast can
perform to the best of her potential.
Girls Compulsory Team Program (Levels 5 and
6)
Levels 5 and 6 are the
first two levels of sanctioned competition in the state of
Michigan. Gymnasts perform compulsory routines (i.e., every gymnast
at the same level performs the same routines, with a few slight
variations allowed on some routines). Level 5 builds on the skills
learned in pre-team levels 1 through 4. Level 6 adds additional
skills. Placement into these levels is done by skill assessment at
the discretion of the coaching staff.
Girls Optional Team Program (Levels 7 – 10)
For the year 2006-2007, Phenomenal
Flips Gymnastics USA will offer only Level 7 in our optional team
program. We will add levels 8 through 10 as our gymnasts progress.
Levels 7 and higher are called “Optional” because each individual
gymnast performs routines choreographed to highlight her strengths.
Each routine must contain a number of skills and dance or pose
elements; however, there are many options from which the gymnast may
choose.
Boys Team Program (Levels 4-10)
Phenomenal
Flips Gymnastics USA is pleased to offer a boys’ team
program! Unless demand allows otherwise, all boys’ team members
will practice in the same time slots, with higher levels coming more
hours than lower levels.
Each gymnast is required to pay a $35 annual
registration fee in addition to the monthly tuition as noted in the
schedule. The monthly tuition prices listed below for all pre-team and team
levels include training time, gymnast meet entry (registration) fees, and
team leotards/warm ups. Gymnasts’ families will be responsible for paying
for any and all transportation and lodging costs associated with the team
participating in the meets, and also for spectators’ entrance fees.
Spectator entrance fees vary depending on the meet, but are typically $5 to
$10 per person. Because the monthly tuition prices are calculated based on
the total estimated cost for the year divided by 12, no adjustments will be
made for missed practices or holidays. At first glance, it may seem as if
our tuition is higher than that of other gyms. Keep in mind that most other
gyms charge separately for leotards, warm-ups, and gymnast meet fees
(sometimes these charges are made as required booster club fees). Once you
factor in all those costs, you will find that our prices are very
reasonable.

*These rates are reduced because girls who begin in May and boys who begin in April or May will not receive competition attire and will not participate in meets during the 2007-2008 season.
To use this chart, identify the column that represents the month the gymnast is joining team. Identify the row that represents the team group the gymnast is joining. The cell at the intersection of the identified row and column contains the monthly tuition figure that gymnast will pay from his or her starting date through May 2008. For example, if a level 2 girl joins team July 1, her family will pay $160 per month every month from July 2007 through May 2008. If a level 4 girl joins team November 1, her family will pay $316 per month every month from November 2007 through May 2008. If a level 4 boy joins team August 1, his family will pay $306 each month from August 2007 through May 2008. Gymnasts continuing from 2006-7 start the 2007-8 season in June 2007.
Attire and meet fees built into the above payment schedule are non-refundable.
Beginning June 1, 2008 new monthly tuition will be calculated that will reflect the 2008-2009 competition attire and meet fees.
